UHHHHH WOW MAC AINT PLAYING ...meet the ModBook Apple Tablet

It seems like one company has jumped in where Apple has not wanted to tread- the tablet PC market. The Modbook by Axiotron and sold through OtherWorldComputing. This is basically a modified white macbook, yet overlayed with a outward facing touch screen. Hit the jump for more info and more pics. Speaking to the representatives I have gleamed this information from them” +They replaced the original screen with a Toshiba panel that has a wider viewing angle +A glass WACOM pane has been overlayed and it is chemically treated to be scratch resistant +A version comes with a GPS module for $100 US additional and the software details have yet to be worked out.+The iSight camera still works I asked if they had considered the medical field as a possible market. They said that they had not previously considered it but had been asked many questions by medical staff who had visited their booth over the last day. In addition I heard a very happy corporate guy telling one of the booth workers that yesterday that had done about .5 million in projected sales yesterday.

This is truly the year of touch screen Apple products.

This closeup shows a power button in addition to a ‘USB Reset.’ Apparently the touch screen is connected using an internally connected USB interface and because tablets in general get ‘wonky’ sometimes they need to be unplugged and re-plugged in. This button dispenses with such an impossibility on a integrated tablet.

CountingDown.com recently checked in with Producer Ken F. Levin about the current status of 20th Century Fox's adaptation of the hit DC comic 'Battle Chasers', which was announced back in April of this year. Levin confirmed for us that Stuart Hazeldine (Riverworld), who was reportedly in negotiations to pen the script for the film, is now officially on board. "Stuart is currently working on the story," Levin tells us.

Additionally, he tells us that series creator Joe Madureira, who is currently busy "spending a lot of time working as creative director for Realm on a massively multi-player online videogame they're doing for N-Soft", is in the loop on the project, and pleased with the current progress. "[Stuart] and Joe already had a long conversation about it, and I think Joe is very happy with where things are." Levin concluces by assuring us that he has every hope for the project - so do we! NEW YORK — People who want an early read on what could emerge as the next big entertainment business trend should keep an eye on what their kids do Friday night at 8:30 ET.

Viacom's (VIA) betting that millions will check out the third-season premiere of Nickelodeon's quirky, anime-influenced series Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's the first fantasy action series targeted to boys at a network known for lighter fare such as SpongeBob Square Pants.

"If we do this right, it could become our Harry Potter," says Nickelodeon President Cyma Zarghami. "We have the opportunity to create a different kind of loyal audience that will follow Avatar here, there and everywhere."

Viacom's Paramount Pictures joined the effort this year: It signed M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense) to write, produce and direct a trilogy of live-action films based on the TV series about Aang, a boy with extraordinary powers who must join his friends to save the world from the hostile Fire Nation.

The first film is due in 2009

Weta has been designing a live-action adaptation of Neon Genesis: Evangelion. The film is on hold but it is Weta's hope that it will enjoy getting to work on the film production of this amazing story in the near future.
