Progression

Here in this image I just wanted to show how the light and shadows are going to (or supposed to) work on this image... I wanted the viewer to see Kendel in the woods as if he is looking for his enemy, and the reader is looking through the trees at Kendel and have this feeling of ... KENDEL LOOK OUT, BEHIND YOU!!! ( am I spelling his name right?) The character behind him is Clan the TinGuh. I like the way this is heading so far. Im going to like it even better when it's colored... Now the scary question is ... should I ink it... this thing took forever... I actually can see where i have slowed down a bit from not drawing comics in a while. ~D~

I have decided... Im always sketching and drawing and something, most of it I can't show because of NDA's and all that good stuff... But I've decided that Im going to let you guys in on what I'm doing. sighhhhhh here it goes.. I have decided to do a comic based off a TV show Im working on along with a few other talented people. Those who know me , know that is where I got my roots WELL I GOT REALLY BOTHERED BY THE COMIC INDUSTRY!!!! (calm down ~D~) and I pretty much quit comics... LONG STORY SHORT... Im back to work on a personal property and I'll start up loading a few images here and there to let you guys see the progress HEY some of you may even be interested in jumping on board to help out hehehe ANYWAY this is the thumbnail for the cover I'm working on now... Im thinking of doing a trade paperback instead of a straight comic BUT HEY we'll see... where it goes. If you guys wanna give your input along the way I'll be listening Thanks in advance. OHHH by the way ANDREW MANGUM FIGHT THIS THING THATS TRYING TO FIGHT YOU AND JUST KNOW THAT IM DEDICATING This First Issue to YOU MAN!!!! ~D~

Black Widow

I was over at Hasbro and a guy (Hey Dave) came by the cube and we got to talking about Black Widow (NATASHA ROMANOVA) the red headed Russian, and we all remember her a certain way and this is the one that has stayed in my head for years. I also have been chomping at the bit to just draw and I haven't drawn women in a long time.

COLORING

This was colored for a SUPER TALENTED BROTHER OF MINE!!!!! he said if you get time to throw some colors down feel free... I liked the design so much I couldn't resist!!!

My computer kept crashing so in between crashes I would draw... you can kinda get an idea how many times it crashed... Iron man doesn't count though ... he was done at lunch time.

Always feel like Im doing the same pose so i thought I'd try a different technique, and practice more at being a little more versatile.

A splash of color

I might go ahead and finish this but I was just wanted to throw a splash of color on it to see what I'd get, you know nothing serious. I already see stuff I need to fix ... So if I don't get bored with it I may post those fixes, Kinda like a work in progress ... MAYBE! Quick stuff like this is kinda fun though.

Me, a big boofy marker and a pen, JUST-a-SKETCHIN But nothing serious.

Just some daily sketches, I try to do this everyday so I'm playing catch up here by uploading the sketches I haven't uploaded to the blog yet. I have this big 11x17 sketch book that is hard to scan from. MAN I will never buy another one of these books again, man its a challenge to fill this thing up, BUT! Me and the Big BOOFY marker are about to become good friends, when I use a big marker I tend to draw bigger ... maybe this will help me fill this sketch book so I can get me a smaller one... I figure I'm wasting money if I don't at least use what I've got and at least fill it up.

The above image  was inspired by the image below, the nose is a little red but hey that's the cool thing about being an artist you get to be creative, add things that are not there or change things to make them work to get the desired look you have in mind . I changed the eyes the nose the lips a bit as you can see and gave her darker features like in the eyebrows which honestly was one of those happy accidents.
